VAGINOPLASTY: Vaginal Rejuvenation

Vaginal Rejuvenation (Vaginoplasty) is a surgical procedure done to help tighten and support the vagina and its structures, it may also improve the appearance of the vulvar area and increase the area between the anus and the opening of the vagina. Vaginoplasty is the most common procedure requested by our patients.

Why Some Women Desire Vaginal Rejuvenation?

After childbirth vaginally stretching and laxity of vaginal tissues and muscles may lead to decreased sensation for you and your partner during sexual intercourse, a sensation that the inside of vagina is “falling out” or feeling “too loose”. Vaginal birth may also lead to tears or the need for an episiotomy, which sometimes does not heal properly, thus aggravating the problem more.

Vaginoplasty Procedure

Vaginoplasty procedure can be done in-office or an out-patient surgery center, the patient may go home the same day, with decreased activity recommended the first one to two weeks postoperatively. Complete healing takes approximately 6 – 8 weeks.
